This is a comparison of a lucozade poster from 1970 and 2015. We can tell just by looking at the bottles that lucozade has had a massive change in its original idea of a drink. For instance at first lucozade where targeting their drink at people who had been ill or sick and needed to recover. More recently lucozade are only saying that there drink is an energy boost but not to help you recover. This may be because people over the years have found out that drinks like lucozade are not healthy but can harm you. Furthermore the brand has kept most of its main ideas in having a glucose sparkling drink which boosts your energy. Also their brand is still represented by gold or red which suggests a sense of power and the drink being prestige.

I asked a few people around me some multiple choice questions to find out what they would like to see in my magazine and to find out more about my target audience. The questions where as follows...
1. What would you want to see on the front cover of a pop music magazine?
A. A close up picture of a recognised or famous pop artist?
B. A non close up but a picture of a well know celeb?
C. Neither
Most of the people i asked where around 16 years old and said A.
2.what kind of colour them would catch your eye?
A. Pink
B. Any bright colour
C. Neither
Most people said B and the rest A.
3. How much would you pay for a pop music magazine?
1.£1
2.£2
3.nothing
Most people said they would be willing to pay up to £2 (B).
4. Would you want to hear about celeb gossip or just about music?
A. Gossip
B. Just music
C . Neither
Every single person answered A
From this survey which i took i now understand that most people want to see a close up of a celeb or pop artist and that bright colours will cath their eye and encourage them to buy it. Additionally i found that most people will pay up to £2 for a pop music magazine and that they all want to hear and know about the gossip in the pop industry.

This is my flat plan which shows the general ideas and theme of what i want my magazine front cover to be like.
I would like the person on the front to represent a music pop artist and right his or her name toward the left the page in big writing. I would like my brand and magazine name "whats popping" to be in bold capitals along the top with three dots after them and possibly a question mark. I would then like there to be many cover lines which are just like teasers talking about the the contents inside the magazine.

Introducing my brief
During this task i need to create a magazine cover for a music magazine. I am hoping to target people who are into pop music and represent pop music as a whole. I plan to call my magazine "Whats popping?"
I will need to take a picture for my front cover which attracts my target audience, my plan is to get a close up of a musicians face and surround their face with cover lines and strap lines. My initial idea was to get a picture of someone who's angle of gaze is not directly at the audience but this may not be a good idea as it is not as good for attracting buyers and the target audience.
Inside my brief I will need information about big upcoming pop concerts and gossip about some celebrity's who are related to the pop industry. One of the main focuses of my contents will be pop celebrity's partners and their relationships. This includes any break ups, get togethers, and gossip.
To create the perfect magazine i will need to perform certain tasks before. For example i need to deconstruct some media texts and create a rough example and drawing of what id like to create.
I think i will find it easy to take a picture for my front cover as i spend alot of my time outside school with cameras where i create videos and pictures as a hobby. I may find it hard to find the right person to actually represent pop music on my front cover but once i have found them the picture should be easy.
